The article deals with an alimentary education programme characterized by the introduction of fresh fish into the canteen menu of a primary school. The aim of this contribution is the reconstruction of the socio-material network and dynamics developed by the programme. The analytical focus is shared, situated, and it includes the things that co-produce the educational action throughout the food catering chain. The sociology of translation and the issue of performativity are the theoretical starting points of the article. A non-standard research design is adopted by the composition of qualitative techniques and in coherence with the aims above mentioned. Empirical findings allowed to underline misalignments in the translation in practice of the education programme.
