51The article reconsiders the Berlin magazine ≪Vešč'/Objet/ Gegenstand≫, which was published by El Lisickij and I'lija Ehrenburg in 1922. An analysis of its typographical components and a reexamination of the editors' statements shed new light upon this famous journal, which was not so much a tool of propaganda but a work of art in its own right resulting from a proudly anonymous and collective creative process in harmony with the editors' artistic creed. Both Suprematist theories and West-European Modernism, as for example "L'Esprit nouveau" 's one, exerted an influence on ≪Vešč'≫, which appears as an original typographical artwork embodying Constructivist ideals such as internationalism, functionalism and serial production, and representing a cultural bridge between the Soviet Union and the rest of the world.
