This essay aims at providing a skeletal overview of the main points in the debate between critical theory and feminism. It will concentrate on Benhabib, Fraser, and Young, as the three authors that maintained a closest relationship with critical theory meant as the tradition originated by the School of Frankfurt. The debates here considered concentrate in a relatively short period of time, and focus mainly about feminist critiques and responses to Habermas' theory of the public sphere. The closing paragraph will highlight a few themes - mostly the question of subjectivity - that may constitute a future common agenda for both feminism and critical theory.
