In this article I analyse the impact of multicultural chances on European society. In the first part, I discuss the several meanings of the word «multiculturalism» and of the expression «multicultural society». In the second part, I discuss the possible making of an European way to multicultural society. I do it by a comparative analysis between European societies and North America societies. I consider United States and Canada as examples of a new multicultural society in contrast to the ‘mono-cultural’ European societies. A non-ideological glance at North American societies could offer a lof of instructions to built a multicultural society in Europe.
