The paper deals with Callimachus, Aitia, fr. 1.11-12. In the scholion Londiniense (P.Lond. Lit. 181) at line 11 Bastianini read a? µe?a?() with an overwritten µe?a[. I suppose the whole word was written over, in order to clarify that the abbreviated word was not the simple µe???a?, but µe?a?e?a?. At the beginning of line 12, the best supplement is ?d??e? (= ??d??e?): Mimnermus’ “magnificent nightingales” are, of course, his elegies.
