In this article I analyze Marko Pogacar’s (Split 1984) literary activity, focusing on trauma-connected themes. The main trauma emerging from Pogacar’s work is war experience of both WWII and the dissolution of former Yugoslavia in the Nineties. On a second level, the field of trauma embraces contemporary Croatian and global economy: social inequality, corporative politics of multinationals, excesses of neo-liberalism. Pogacar particularly detects inconsistencies of the cultural and political transition from socialism to capitalism in Croatia and in the whole Balkan region.
