his study deals with the current tragical events in Ukraine via the poetry of Ul’ana Kryvochat’ko, Bogdan Tomencuk, Janina Kosakovskaja, Karyna Tumajeva, Halyna Kruk, Ella Jevtušenko and Kateryna Kalytko. From “Majdan”, the centre of the new civil consciousness of Ukraine, begins the revolt which branches out in various segments. Young people die fighting for pure ideals opposed to the mud of corrupted and infested political and business affaires. In the midst of the chaos the appeals to the heart, feelings, reason and betrayed hopes rise to heavens like incense. Poetic voices narrate about the conflict and foretell the collective palingenesis and the triumph of human values. The chemistry of the verses is opposed to the abuse of force. Will the Word quench guns and tanks?
