In this paper we examined the measures in support of the typical agro-food products in the framework of Axis 3 of the Rural Development Programmes in Italy. These measures improving quality of life and encouraging diversification in the Italians rural areas in application of Regulations CE 1698/2005. Successively, the measures have been analyzed in the perspective of the experience economy, through a systemic-hierarchical model that has put in evidence as the typical products can supply new differentiated services (tastings, experiences etc.). In such a way some points of weakness that characterize the commercialization of the typical products could be resolved.
