The wine appellation constitutes a strategic productive field for image and Italian economy. The rules of valorization and management of such cultural patrimony must today more than ever guarantee the increased requirements of control and traceability imposed from the EU laws and the national and international markets. In the last years, the italian legislator has shown its willing to enforce the strength of the producers associations to protect their own appellations. The present article examines the reliability of the solutions undertaken concentrating the attention, in particular, on the risks connected to the privatization of the vigilance power.
