The image of a landscape is consolidated by the tangible and intangible elements that characterize a territory whose beauty and singularity leave an impression. The discovery of landscape seems to date back to the age of the “Grand Tour”, when young men were destined to enter the ruling classes made a long trip to Europe and, on Italy, discovered the beauty and the variety of our settled areas, historical buildings and the agricultural culture. Today, our country, that is stretches for 1,200 kilometres, involves many different regional habitats too as underline the landscape’s observatory and many searches about agricultural milieu. We must learn to defend agricultural for the roles that it plays, not only of growing produce but also of safeguarding the aquifer and defending biodiversity. It is need to change pattern growth that it recognizes the soil as common good and that it has care of the territory and the landscape. In brief, we have to abandon the continual chasing after production of goods that not only contribute to decreasing the landscape but also lose their own value on a market that is increasingly controlled by interests distant from the production location.
