This article investigates the relationship between the economic issues related to irrigation and the sustainable water management in the nursery sector of the province of Pistoia. The aim is to analyze in detail investments and the cost structure for irrigation according to different techniques with increasing water saving. This research helps to understand which business costs for water use and environmental benefits could be associated to public intervention to improve water saving in the nursery.
