Methodological approaches experimented in the past for Rural Development Plans (RDP) valuation do not seem to be any longer suitable. This is due to new emerging needs in terms of valuation such as, among others, valuation timing and large scale of territories to keep under observation. To this end the Campania Region RDP valuation was performed by means of Geographic Information System (GIS). Results seem to validate the appropriateness of this approach. It allows to state some accurate judgement related to the suitableness of regional policies in a reasonable short time. As for the case study, Campania RDP, the indexes elaborated do not shoe substantial differentations among areas. Nevertheless, if distribution and concentration of protected areas of the intervention is taken in place, results show that most of the farms and land that benefit of the public financial support are located within the regional protected area.
