162Fichte’s philosophy of religion may be described as articulated in a pattern that evolves from a criticism of the concept of revelation – based on Kant’s illuminism – to an original merge of Neoplatonism and Christianism. This essay outlines the main stages of such process through an analysis of Fichte’s works addressing this matter and of relevant passages found elsewhere in his opera. The interpretation of Fiche’s philosophy of religion proposed hereby is essentially comprehensive homogeneous and attempts both to explain its main issues and to assess its internal coherence.
