The hill, the ombrone river, the city: to ground again the relationship This contribution undertakes the reading of the western area of Pistoia, as door of access to the fluvial system and to the surrounding hills, presenting the viewpoint that the acknowledgment of the western limit of the city as focal point of the continuity in the landscape constitutes a fundamental passage in order to move beyond a mostly city-centric view, and to propose an integrated planning environment (with an experimental Park) that reinstitutes the relationship with the Ombrone river and the hillsides, with the aim to reintegrate the various parts of the territorial puzzle.
