World history is considered one of the most innovative approaches to theanalysis of the phenomena that affected mankind since the fifteenth century.However, its first theorizations were proposed in the aftermath of WorldWar I, and the recently founded United Nations developed the first editorialproject at the end of the Second World War. This article shortly analyzesthe origins of the world history theories and the first attempts, in Americaand in Europe, to synthesize the history of the planet in one text.
