In describing our experience, we have to start with the notion that in viewingour environment we orient ourselves on the specific properties of our senses andour brain. We do that in the way we have been trained in our culture. We findthat these properties are modified according to our culture, which not only orientsour minds but already directs our brain activity. Neural activity, thus, is notmerely an effect of evolution, it is likewise reflecting a culture, and it should beinterpreted in this twofold sense as a unity.
