This contribution investigates the relation between implicit and explicit attitudes and their effects on voting behaviour in Italy's European (Study 1) and UK's General (Study 2) elections. Results show that implicit attitudes toward leaders and parties are more differentiated than explicit attitudes. Moreover, in both studies, implicit attitudes, alongside explicit predicting the voting behavior and their influence is mediated by voting intention. Results indicate that implicit attitudes play a relevant role and are among the psychological factors underlying electoral choice.
