"Construal Level Theory" is a recent framework developed within the domain of social cognition with the aim to explain how psychological distance affects information processing and, in turn, evaluations and behaviors. In the present work we will present main findings based on "Construal Level Theory" discussing their potential to explain and predict behavior. Furthermore, theoretical ambiguities will be discussed. According to the aims of the present work, in the first part of the paper we will review research supporting theoretical foundations of "Construal Level Theory", while in the second part we will examine in depth behavioral implications of psychological distance. Finally, in the last part of the review, critical remarks will be discussed in order to stimulate future research.
