The liturgical reform in the periphery of the Italian church is a subject that still needs to be completely studied. Lacking are instruments of work on the sources and archives, but above all what is lacking is the possibility to deduce from the printed or polycopied repertoires certain data on the use of the songs that form the musical backdrop to the reform. The paper restricts itself, therefore, to examining fifteen songs that would are representative of different environments (from the Comunione e Liberazione movement to the Focolari movement, from the Bolognese parishes of Lercaro to the Ambrosian diocese) and are disseminated by extremely varied paths (semi-official collections, spontaneous dissemination or the spread through movements), and to recording some of their features. Such an analysis reveals not only the relationship of dependence and/or polemic with the commercial music of the moment, but also the implicit ecclesiology and its variations in the years that extend from the approvation of "Sacrosanctum Concilium" to the start of the pontificate of John Paul II.
