The following papers are the commemorative speeches delivered at the Accademia delle Scienze of Turin on the 20th of June, 2002, in the first anniversary of Professor Valerio Verra's death. Riconda's paper focuses on the relationships between Verra and the philosophical "milieu" of the University of Turin; Rossi's paper deals with Verra's Hegelian scholarship; Vattimo's paper sets forth an interpretation of Verra's philosophical attitude according to which he would have been sympathetic to a hermeneutical approach.
