In Plato's 'Laws', books III e IV, the notion of mixture in relation to the 'politeia' is understood as multiplication of offices and the criteria for accessing them, in a reciprocal moderation of the rulers. This essay is an attempt to clarify the way in which Plato understands the good mixture of determinate and different parts that articulate and constitute 'society', giving birth to a true and real 'politèia'.
