Desde el siglo XVIII el museo ha intentado distinguirse formalmente del resto de los edificios, perpetuando una iconografía que persiste en el imaginario popular. En este artículo nos propusimos averiguar si ese arquetipo se replica en uno de los productos audiovisuales más consumidos de la actualidad, las series de animación. Para la realización de la investigación se han analizado 34 museos aparecidos en capítulos de diferentes temporadas de algunas de las series de animación más populares y galardonadas en los últimos 25 años. Los datos nominales se obtuvieron en distintas webs especializadas, pero también se emplearon tablas y fichas de elaboración propia para registrar las variables del museo tras la visualización de los episodios. Analizados los diferentes ítems, los resultados reflejan el predominio de determinados estilos arquitectónicos, colecciones museográficas o patrones de comportamiento del público, aunque con matices.Since the 18th century, the museum has tried to distinguish itself formally from the rest of the buildings, perpetuating an iconography that persists in the popular imagination. In this article, we set out to find out if this archetype is replicated in one of today's most consumed audio-visual products, the animated series. To carry out the research, 34 museums that appeared in chapters of different seasons of some of the most popular and award-winning animated series in the last 25 years were analysed. Nominal data were obtained from different specialised websites, but tables and sheets of our elaboration were also used to record the museum variables after viewing the episodes. After analysing the different items, the results reflect the predominance of specific architectural styles, museum collections or public behaviour patterns, although with nuances.
