A partire dal manoscritto autografo delle memorie di L.B. intitolato Il grande amore e col corredo del ricco epistolario conservato privatamente il presente contributo ricostruisce alcuni snodi della formazione umana e intellettuale della storica dell’arte fiorentina. Si riporta in luce, assieme ai ricordi più lontani, anche la figura della sua prima amica, Maria Arrighi poi Jesi, ben presto divenuta la moglie e la collaboratrice di uno dei più importanti collezionisti d’arte contemporanea dei primi quarant’anni del Novecento.Beginning with the autograph manuscript of L.B.’s memoirs entitled Il grande amore and with the support of the rich epistolary privately preserved, the present contribution reconstructs some of the junctures in the human and intellectual formation of the Florentine art historian. The figure of her first friend, Maria Arrighi then Jesi, who soon became the wife and collaborator of one of the most important collectors of contemporary art in the first forty years of the twentieth century, is also brought to light, along with more distant memories.
