Instauré comme organe de coopération culturelle au sein de la Société des Nations en 1926, l’Office International des Musées, entre autres actions, est à créditer de l’organisation en 1934 d’une conférence dédiée à l’architecture et à l’aménagement des musées. À cette occasion, quelques soixante-neuf experts de dix-neuf nationalités partagèrent leurs expériences concernant la conception architecturale du musée, ses aménagements intérieurs et la mise en valeur des collections.S’appuyant sur la documentation de cette période – à commencer par le manuel Muséographie, régulièrement cité afin de mettre en évidence la pertinence et la modernité des préceptes énoncés – cet article s’attache à présenter, au travers de cette Conférence de Madrid qui les illustre parfaitement, à la fois la coopération culturelle à l’échelle internationale et l’avancée des réflexions à l’origine de la discipline muséographique à l’œuvre durant l’entre-deux-guerres.Created as organ of cooperation in breast to the Society of the Nations in 1926, the Office International des Musées, among other activities, took care of the organization, in 1934, of a meeting devoted to the architecture and the preparation of museums. In this occasion, sixty nine experts of nineteen nationalities exchanged their experiences on the architectural conception of the museum, its exhibitions and the valorisation of the collections.Founding on the documentation of the time, starting from the manual Muséographie, regularly cited for putting in evidence the pertinence and the modernity of the enunciated precepts. this article intends to introduce, through the Lecture in Madrid that perfectly illustrates them, the intellectual cooperation on international staircase, as the spread of some reflections around the origin of the museographic discipline in the inclusive period among the two wars.
