This contribution aims to analyze the recent electoral round held inCalabria for the election of the Regional Council and of the President ofCalabrian Government. In the light of the constitutional jurisprudence forthe (dutiful) promotion of equal opportunities between women and men inthe access to the elective positions, as well as the recent State Law 20/2016,which provides for the adoption of specific measures in this regard, theconstitutionality of the Calabrian electoral law is doubted because it has notbeen adapted to the State principle law.
