My paper focuses on Walter Siti's trilogy of novels "Il dio impossibile" (2014), in its relation¬ship with TV studies. The first part is a "close reading" of the trilogy's third novel "Troppi paradisi" (2006). It is a typical "autofiction" that explores, through its main character, Walter, the backstages of some italian TV shows. In the second part of the paper I focus on several categories by McLuhan (1964), Debord (1967) and Jenkins (2006), to discuss the main theoretical differences between literature (in its main genre: novel) and medium like TV (in its recent products like reality shows). The conclusion is a theoretical meditation about contemporary novel in digital age.
