Lighthouses decommissioned. From abandonment to regeneration. - The Italian legislation on cultural heritage introduced, a few years ago, the concept of enhancement and enjoyment of cultural heritage through the outsourcing of cultural assistance and hospitality services for the public. Particularly, the national Project "Valore Paese" of the Agenzia del Demanio is dedicated to lighthouses and it intends to encourage the promotion of the Italian public real estate through the synergy between the sectors of tourism, art and culture, economic and territorial cohesion. In this sense, the recovery of public assets owned by the State and local authorities has the possibility to be considered not only in terms of cost to the community, but also as a significant lever for territorial and social development, in a logic of publicprivate partnership.
