The article analyzes the passage of catholic writer Tommaso Gallarati Scotti from the positions of "combattentismo interventista" to anti-fascism, between 1922 and 1925, in Milan. Considering the general frame of the great national debates, the article highlights Scotti's convergence with the positions of the radical democrats as Parri and Bauer, as emerges in the writings published in the magazine "Il Caffè". Gallarati Scotti, however, maintained a liberaldemocratic line, closer to Gobetti and Amendola. Therefore, he distinguished himself from other friends, who were liberal (Casati) or democrat (Jacini).
