The work reconstructs the developments in Italian constitutional and administrativelaw scholarship of recent decades, with the aim of: 1) demonstrating that,notwithstanding the growing connection between the two fields in terms of legalexperience, scholars have remained tied to the division between the relevantbranches formed the day after the Constitution of 1948 went into effect; 2) verifyinghow and to what extent such division can be overcome. To this end the authorexplores the question of how each of them represents the characterizingprinciples of their respective fields of discipline, which appears able to challenge,even on the theoretical plane, the traditional arrangements of public law.
