160Claudio Cesa always opposed the idea of a «secret Hegel» (Jacques D'Hondt) that cannot be confirmed by textual evidence. Hence, he rejected all interpretations of Hegel that subordinated textual evidence to the interpreter's own theoretical convictions. In this regard, Cesa's rejection of the liberal interpretation of Hegel's thought can be taken as an example. However, Cesa maintains - in a quite peculiar way - that a component of moral subjectivity is conserved in the objectivity of Hegel's ethical life. One may ask, therefore, whether one could find the ghost of a secret Hegel even in Cesa.
