This article focuses on the reception of Leo Spitzer's book regarding the idioms which Italian prisoners in Austria used in their letters during the First World War. The author adjustes the idea of a negative reception casting new light upon two favourable reviews composed by Venanzio Todesco and Ezio Levi.
