71The present contribution reviews the studies dealing with political communication processes in televised political interviews. Resting mainly on the face model and on the theory of equivocation, the distinctive characteristics of the communication acted by the three actors of political interviews (interviewer, interviewed, citizen) are identified. Outlining the recent theoretical and practical developments, this contribution highlights the usefulness of tools proposed in this field, principally according to the possibility to train politicians and journalists, in order to improve the quality of the service provided and to control their performance. This would promote a greater control over two of the most important modern democratic institutions: political system and media system.
