Organizational identification is a construct which can be analysed both by the organizational perspective, as an important instrument of organizational action, and by individual perspective, as central process within the dynamics of individual identity construction. This study aims to investigate the structure of the organizational identification, by analysing its basic components within the Italian organizational context, asto compare the results with international literature on the topic. Two scales of organizational identification, a global measure by Mael and Ashforth (1992) and a multidimensionalscale (affective, cognitive and evaluative) by Ellemers et al. (1999), have been administered to a sample of 222 people employed into seven micro and little Enterprises within the regional area (128 men and 94 women, mean age 42). The results of factorial analysis show that the global measure (Mael and Ashfort, 1992) keeps an single dimensional structure, while as for the multi-componential measure (Ellemers et al., 1999), three dimensions have been found (cognitive, affective and evaluative) as proposed by the original model. The reliability and validity indices are satisfying for both instruments.
