This paper starts from the consideration that a correct formulation of the ontological discourse on nature, in which the human being is assigned the position he deserves (for reasons mainly related to his biological history), as well as a correct vision of nature and the fundamental laws that govern it, provide important clues as to how the ethical discourse on the relationship between human and nature should be framed. Knowledge of the laws of nature and the image of nature derived from them become a structural element of environmental ethical reflection
