The author examines the latest Italian environmental laws, criticizing their being too many, incoherent and inaccurate. The number of environmental crimes provided in the laws is growing year after year; most of the crimes, however, regard formal transgressions, which could more effectively be sanctioned thorugh administrative penalties. An estensive environmental bureaucracy, which can do a great deal of harm to both controllers and controlled, is also growing. Only by working out a new entire text of the environmental laws it is possible to fight against the "laws pollution" which can otherwise become extremely dangerous
