359The stories we tell of law and society matter hugely in the shaping, normalising and inscribing of public and institutional understanding of societal ills and solutions. They send signals as to their causes, and contribute to the shaping of relations between groups and individuals, as well as our relationship to our surrounding environments. This article offers reflections and glimpses into the benefits and discussions that could come with being more mindful, and critical of the stories we tell of society, of human-nature relations, and law. In making my arguments I draw on debates concerning Commons management, reflecting also on the importance of diversifying the stories we share, looking to colleagues out with our own disciplines, as well as beyond academia and government more broadly
