Conversion to the Jewish faith represents more the process through which one is accepted into Jewish people rather than the passage from a faith to another one. In any case it is necessary to distinguish the procedures establishing who is Jew from these establishing who is an Israeli citizen. Jew is who was born from a Jewish mother or who converts to Judaism according to the rules fixed by rabbinic Law. This for coming in Judaism, but what for going out? Traditional rules don't provide for this eventuality while the Israeli Law states as Jewish everyone born from a Jewish mother and not converted to another religion. In the State of Israel there is an evolution about conversions: once only those who had taken place under orthodox rabbinic control were accepted; now instead the Supreme Court expresses a trend to accept conversions enacted by non orthodox Judaism, because «Israel is the State [...] of Jewish people that includes several groups».
