302Typically, the relationship between law and life sciences presents lights and shadows. On the one hand, there have been cases in which scientific research was tempted to proceed alone, free from legal or ethical constraints. On the other hand, law sometimes puts excessive and unreasonable obstacles in the way of scientific progress. Difficulties in understanding very complex issues (like neuroscience or genetics) and rapidly evolving scientific results challenge law's ability and effectiveness in regulating life sciences. Given this context, the article suggests applying the concept of resilience to legal issues and their regulation in
