Starting from a cognitive model of persuasion, the work presents a multidimensional view of charisma, defined as the skill of leaders or laypeople of influencing others, that is, inducing them to pursue goals with conviction, passion, and enthusiasm. Based on previous studies, it overviews the internal features that make up a charismatic leader and the external traits and behaviors displaying them, and singles out various types of charisma. Then, it outlines the specific charisma of Domenico Parisi, which is strongly characterized by traits of competence such as clarity, lucidity, and visionarity; within the dimension of dominance, by courage and judgment, and within benevolence, by inclusiveness, informality, and empathy. The emotions most frequently induced by Domenico in his friends and followers are enthusiasm and pride – due to the strong shared sense of identity felt with his group – and both admiration and tenderness toward him
