In the last 4 years, biogas production in farms grew dizzyingly, especially in areas with other well-established agricultural and breeding chains, so starting a huge competition between them to use some inputs (e.g. raw materials or land). This paper shows an innovative method to analyze and assess socioeconomic impact that the biogas production system has on a territory, versus the traditional cow’s milk production system. The results compare how much each system contributes to the socioeconomic development of their territory, as production value, as demand of goods and services, as work and as net income.
