The essay is the Italian translation of Chapter 3 of a classic ethnography of sexwork, Paul Cressey's Taxi Dance Hall (The University of Chicago Press, 1932). Theanalysis touches upon the taxi-dancers' work as well as their life strategies; theways in which they interact with clients, and the diverse categories of clients; themore or less concealed transgression, as well as the transformation of behavioraland interactional models drawn from mainstream society.
