The author reconstructs the thought of some Italian philosophers of the twentieth century who openly declared themselves to be followers of Benedetto Croce, the Italian thinker who more than any other profoundly influenced European and world culture. This analysis is presented against the background of the different trends of post-World War II Italian culture and its discussions on Historicism, Science, Liberalism and the consequences of the new technological advances.
