This article aims to highlight the role of Catholic religion teaching in the context of the educational and development policies of the person that the State should guarantee in the more general perspective of intercultural dialogue characterizing every area of educational choices. Individuals belonging to different groups learn about each other with an intercultural dialogue. Human rights are a basic theme for those who manage intercultural dialogue. The school is the central context where people can increase these skills and competences, as highlighted by UNESCO in the Guidelines for intercultural education and in this context Catholic religion teaching should certainly have a primary role, as a subject which link the most different needs to realize and to strengthen the effective citizenship.
