The archives are not just "the granaries of the history" (Marc Bloch): in the specific caseof the history of the institutions they represent rather the internal circulation. From how thearchives were produced and "worked" the papers, from the traces on the documents (corrections,annotations, comments), valuable signals derive. This essay examines two cases,which relate to the way in which a regime like the italian fascism was taking (or not taking)his decisions: the reform attempts of expropriation for public use; and the juridical framingof employees of public institutions and agencies. also biographies are relevant. and thememoirs of men of the institutions, or the specific sources of the economic entities, or theprivate correspondence. or oral sources; and the style of the administration (its rituals, itslanguages , its ways of writing). Today, however, major changes are taking place, resultingfrom the web developing (and therefore from the "plural" production of the administrativeDocument). the files themselves can be "navigated ". the "granary" is now an infinitesequence of "granaries".
